I Fix A Frustrated Producer's “Amateur” Song

Seven weeks old, and "I Fix A Frustrated Producer's “Amateur” Song" is still the video doing most of the work on Alex Rome's channel. Nothing new went up in the past seven days, so the producer and teacher's back catalog had the room to itself, and this one has passed 171,000 views, picking up more each day than his other recent videos combined.

It belongs to a format he keeps returning to: someone's track arrives sounding unfinished, and he takes it apart on screen to show what is holding it back. A newer entry, "I Fixed My Student’s Amateur-Sounding Song," went up twenty days ago and sits a step behind. Further back, "A Simple System For Making Songs in 2026" is still being found months after it went up in the spring. Its description ties it to his EDM course, where he says he reviews student songs every week, which may explain where all those amateur tracks come from.

The channel as a whole ran close to its usual daily pace, and the subscriber count held where it was. Among electronic music and production channels near his size, the busy week belonged to Servida Music, running at about three times its usual pace, while Andrew Huang and GLASYS were on the slower side. Alex Rome sat in the middle, steady, with a fixed song still doing the talking.
