Season 2 of the Owen Wilson comedy returns November 4, and the comment section below the trailer was busy within hours, much of it about Rhea Seehorn and whether this could be the next Ted Lasso.

Stick — Season 2 Official Trailer | Apple TV

Pryce Cahill has heard what the internet thinks of him. Riding in a golf cart near the end of the new Stick trailer, Owen Wilson's faded pro recalls one online comment in particular. It called him the Amelia Earhart of golf: a man who took off with great expectations, then vanished over a water hazard.

Season 2 is his answer. The pitch comes from Clark, his old promoter, who wants Pryce to stage the greatest comeback in sports history by becoming the oldest player ever to win the US Open. Pryce takes about two seconds to say yes. Rhea Seehorn arrives as Amanda, the new coach who warns him what he is signing up for, and the reason underneath it all is one Wilson delivers quietly: "I need to know if it was true or if it was all just smoke." A bearded friend from the crew gives the most honest verdict on the plan: "It's a long shot, but it's not stupid."

The two-minute trailer drew more than 600,000 views in its first 14 hours, far beyond what a clip this length usually does on Apple TV's channel. Its comments came in faster still. Many viewers call the first season a hidden gem that too few people found, several wonder aloud whether it could become the next Ted Lasso, and a good share of them are there simply because Seehorn is.

Stick comes from Jason Keller, one of the writers of Ford v Ferrari. It returns on November 4 with two episodes, then one every Wednesday through December 30, with Marc Maron, Peter Dager, Judy Greer and Timothy Olyphant back alongside Wilson. Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman return in the broadcast booth as themselves.
