Buff Mario, a Superstar Mode run and Arrowstotle's upgrade video at rest
With nothing new posted, a seven-week-old Super Mario Odyssey challenge built on SKELUX's Superstar Mode carries the channel.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Mario, but I can UPGRADE
Seven weeks old and still the busiest thing on the shelf: "Mario, but I can UPGRADE" is Arrowstotle's take on Superstar Mode, a fan-made customization of Super Mario Odyssey credited to SKELUX. The twist is that every time enough coins are collected, Mario gets stronger, unlocking new forms and abilities on the way through what the description bills as one of the hardest customizations around. Custom models came from DrSmolArt.
Arrowstotle posted nothing new this week, and the channel, which sums itself up as "Custom Mario videos. Family Friendly!", let its back catalogue do the work. Close behind the upgrade run sits a spring video in which every Mario Wonder level carries a deadly color, built by Getlucky12 across 12 custom stages. It is the channel's oldest video in the group and its biggest by far, past 1.7 million views. A summer video with mystery buttons in 18 stages fills out the trio.
The pause shows a little: about half a million views came in over the week, a touch below the channel's usual pace, and the subscriber count held at around 394,000. Among the let's-play and variety channels of similar size, RetroGamingDays and Cam2r Gaming had the big weeks, while NintendoCapriSun and ChilledChaosGAME stayed quiet.
One small tradition survives every upload: each description ends with a secret phrase for the few who read that far. Under the upgrade video, it is a line about buff Mario being too big for the pipe.
