Wearable bakes put Bake Off's Audience Choice Week on display
The Showstopper challenge joins Mean Girls-inspired biscuits and a tea-themed Short in the official channel's three-upload week.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Cakes you can wear!? | The Great British Bake Off
Would you wear your Showstopper before eating it? Bake Off's first Audience Choice Week asks the bakers to make something genuinely wearable, giving the usual questions of flavor and structure a rather unusual extra requirement.
"Cakes you can wear!? | The Great British Bake Off" was the most watched new upload, reaching about 43,000 views. Its hat-themed challenge also gives viewers something practical to puzzle over: how do these creations stay upright? In the comments, one viewer wonders how a bake holds together, another imagines fleeing into the forest rather than attempting the task, and a pastry pun supplies a proposed alternative: a shoe made from choux.
The week's other uploads keep biscuits in the conversation. "Biscuits inspired by Mean Girls: iconic. #GBBO" follows Tom's worries about his work through to Star Baker recognition, with the film's burn book providing a joke about Paul Hollywood. "Okay but 8 is wild. What's your magic number? #GBBO" adds a shorter tea-and-cookie talking point.
Across the channel, weekly views topped half a million while subscribers stayed unchanged. Daily viewing is running above its usual level. Among nearby entertainment channels, The Chase had a similar weekly audience, while Dancer's Got Talent had a substantially busier week.
The wearable Showstopper currently draws the most daily views, but Molly-Mae Hague's teddy-bear biscuit sculpture is close behind. That month-old charity episode brings her into the tent alongside Babatunde Aléshé, Richard Herring and JoJo Siwa, with Ellie Belly providing the model for her edible toy.
