Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Is it a San Diego thing? #Shorts

Sherry has come to see Lucy Darling, not to defend Irvine. But when her hometown earns a decidedly muted response from the San Diego audience, Lucy finds another subject to investigate.

"Have I learned today that San Diego is a little... Pretentious?" she asks. The crowd cheers, obligingly making her point.

"Is it a San Diego thing? #Shorts" is the most-watched new upload on Carisa Hendrix & Lucy Darling this week, reaching roughly 1.4 million views. Before the geography lesson, there's economics: Sherry says that's what she's studying, and answers a question about her favorite discovery with "I'm not gonna get a job." Lucy's theatrical delivery gets a useful counterweight in her guest's deadpan.

The comments keep returning to Sherry's admission that she traveled for Lucy, the performer's gentle approach to her, and one particularly audible audience laugh. It's a crowd-work clip with several sources of comedy, not just the person holding the microphone.

Four Shorts arrived this week, including "You know, normal ones #shorts," "Meat Rack #Shorts" and "Lucy Darling Halloween #Shorts." Across the channel, subscribers grew by about 20,000, although daily views are currently running at roughly half their usual level. Nearby comedy channel Colby Martel is having a much busier-than-usual spell; Gabi Jones is also seeing a slower daily audience.

The strongest current viewing momentum belongs to "Cold TJ, cold #Shorts," posted just before this week's window. "The mustache keeping us online #Shorts" is also drawing fresh views, giving the new San Diego encounter some company from earlier audience exchanges.
