Chris Howett tests "Earth's Deadliest Hotels"
His May hotel adventure is getting a fresh burst of views, with icy room rules and an underground stay drawing particular attention.
Why this story? The video is running at 91,187 views a day, 6.3 times its usual pace (14,446).
I Tested Earth's Deadliest Hotels
A hotel room that visitors can enter isn't everyone's idea of a relaxing getaway. Beneath Chris Howett's "I Tested Earth's Deadliest Hotels", viewers keep returning to the ice hotel's unusual arrangement: overnight guests have to make way for daytime visitors.
The May upload has added about 91,000 views in a day, more than six times its regular daily pace. That brings it close to two and a half million views, months after its release and while Howett's more recent European bus journey is still prominent on his channel.
The comments offer a different kind of hotel review. Several viewers discuss the figures sculpted in ice inside the room; others say the cave or mine accommodation would be enough to keep them aboveground. One imagines the housekeeping staff ziplining in with their cleaning supplies. Another contrasts the underground stay with the appeal of private nighttime zoo access.
Hotels aren't a one-off detour for Howett. Between this adventure and his transport challenges, he also posted "I Tried a Secret Billionaire Hotel", swapping the promise of danger for the promise of exclusivity.

What viewers say
Not sure what's worse. The creepy figures in your room of the ice hotel or the fact that you have to get up early because visitors are entering your room. 😱
@norissima95See it on YouTubeThe private nighttime zoo access is an absolute dream. The 1400' deep cave was an absolute nightmare.

Thank you Chris for making the journey all the way to our little lighthouse island here on Sweden’s west coast. It was a real pleasure having you on the island, and very special to watch how you captured life out here.

@Steph_Says_StuffSee it on YouTubeThe cave hotel would have definitely gotten the highest "impossible" score from me... because there's no way I would have ever gotten down there to stay!!
