Hockey romance and a ballpark singalong round out CTV Your Morning

Rachel Reid discusses adapting Shane and Ilya's story, while Tom DeLonge gets an emotional musical tribute from Padres fans.

Rachel Reid's hockey romance and Tom DeLonge's ballpark singalong offered two very different entertainment stops on CTV Your Morning's busy news shelf.

In "'Heated Rivalry' Author on Smash-Hit Crave Series & New Book | Your Morning," Reid discusses bringing Shane and Ilya's story to television and her work as a consulting producer on the adaptation. The interview also looks toward her next book and a deluxe edition with an extra chapter. Elsewhere, "Tom DeLonge Gets Emotional as Padre Fans Sing 'All the Small Things' | Your Morning" turns a familiar blink-182 hit into a personal moment for the band's guitarist and singer.

Those were smaller audiences within a week dominated by cross-border trade. The channel posted fifteen uploads, and its Republican tariff discussion with Western University political scientist Matthew Lebo drew roughly a quarter-million views, the largest audience among the new arrivals. Viewers questioned whether the political pushback would last beyond the midterms and discussed Canadian sovereignty alongside trade.

That interview is also the channel's busiest video right now, followed by the Stelco report linking Ontario steelworkers' potential layoffs to a Canada-U.S. steel deal. A newer segment on Canadians' baby-name choices adds a lighter subject to the most active lineup.

Across the channel, the week brought about 629,000 views without a change in subscribers. Daily viewing is currently a little below its usual pace. Nearby talk-show channel Would I Lie To You? had a much larger viewing week, while CTV's own mix left room for both steel jobs and a stadium singing a pop-punk chorus.
