Pokrovsk, Chris Pleasance explains early in the episode, is "a crossroads town sitting at the junction of no fewer than six highways and just as many railways." The newest Battle Board from Daily Mail World is built on that idea. Whoever controls the roads controls the region, and the two-year fight for them changed how both armies move.
The episode drew about 144,000 views in its first seventeen hours. For comparison, a longer video on this channel usually gathers around 7,000 in a full first day.
Pleasance writes and presents it, standing over a map board he keeps rolling out and swapping. The story begins after Avdiivka fell in February 2024. Ukrainian Abrams tanks of the 47th Brigade are lost to Russian drones, and a unit rotation that goes wrong in April opens a sudden breakthrough toward Ocheretyne. Then Ukraine, short of artillery shells, builds a drone "kill zone" near the front, about three miles deep at first and later six.
The title promises that war will never be the same, and the second half of the video sets out the case. A massed column can no longer cross that ground unseen, so Russia changes its methods. First come motorbike assault troops, which Pleasance calls "like the opposite of tanks." From 2025 there are cloaked teams of two to four soldiers working their way into Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad street by street. By mid-January 2026, according to the Institute for the Study of War's assessment, the city is lost.
In the final minutes Pleasance takes the tactical map away entirely. In its place he describes scattered spotters and drone-covered zones up to ten miles wide instead of trench lines.
The comment section reads like a series audience. Viewers remember an earlier episode on the battle for Hostomel airport, and several are already asking which operation the board should cover next.
