Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Confession | Official Teaser

What drew the biggest audience from The Daily Wire's new uploads: political commentary or a period thriller? This time, it was the film. "Confession | Official Teaser" reached roughly 377,000 views and is also the channel's busiest upload right now.

The fictional story takes place in Moscow in 1938. Alexei, a disillusioned former literature professor, is arrested and taken to Lubyanka Prison, accused of conspiring with a dissident priest. His interrogator is Vladimir, his own former student. The teaser announces a November 11 release, and the comments are unusually focused on casting: viewers keep mentioning Rob Lowe, James Franco and Dean Norris, with several asking about the faces they recognize.

Elsewhere among the week's fifteen uploads, Chris Hansen joins "You See How This looks, Right? | Friendly Fire." The episode combines discussion of a movie about Hansen with Ben Shapiro's film news, Michael Knowles' midterm outlook and Andrew Klavan's literary concerns. A separate Hansen-titled upload also features among the week's most watched releases.

The channel's subscriber count held steady, while daily views are running at more than twice their usual level. Nearby political channels had busier weeks overall, including David Pakman and Megyn Kelly; The Rubin Report, at the same subscriber count as The Daily Wire, also drew substantially more weekly views. Here, though, the distinctive attraction is entertainment: a professor facing interrogation by someone he once taught.
