Tony Beets tackles the Cursed Cut on Discovery
Gold Rush shares a fourteen-upload week with Tombstone's spinning blade and the Raneys' underground garden.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Can Tony Beets Beat the "Cursed" Cut? 🤔⛏️ Gold Rush | Discovery
Gold Rush supplied the biggest draw. Tony Beets' attempt to work the so-called Cursed Cut brought Discovery about 150,000 views, with floods and a new team's arrival at Hunker Creek giving the mining crew plenty to contend with.
The comments wander beyond the gold tally: Tony's driving gets a television-comedy comparison, while Monica's work prompts a viewer to recognize women in mining. Another viewer uses the occasion to request more of Discovery's other shows, including Naked and Afraid and Mud Madness.
Rick Ness supplied another substantial Gold Rush chapter, opening the Valhalla Cut while pushing Vegas Valley for more gold. But the channel's busiest upload by daily views is now its Tombstone collection from BattleBots. The robot's spinning blade meets Minotaur, Whiplash and Gigabyte, making heavy machinery a recurring theme across otherwise very different shows.
Discovery drew about 3.3 million views across the week, with subscribers unchanged. Daily viewing is currently well below its usual pace. Among nearby television and streaming channels, Prime Video and Netflix K-Content are having busier-than-usual days; Kitchen Nightmares, like Discovery, is quieter than normal.
Away from mining and robot combat, the Raneys offered a different kind of machinery-and-ingenuity story. Marty, Matt and Misty's Homestead Rescue collection takes on abandoned properties through projects including an underground garden, new water sources, livestock and an oil-well restoration.
