Let's get ACTIVE

Wii nostalgia comes with technical questions at DKOldies.com. Beneath "Let's get ACTIVE," viewers aren't just reminiscing about the Balance Board: they're asking whether controllers with MotionPlus built in need another attachment, and what Wii Fit Plus adds to Wii Fit.

The retro-game retailer's fitness-themed showcase was its most-watched new upload, reaching roughly 44,000 views. These are a store's product videos, with the hardware and games supplying both the nostalgia and the conversation. One viewer even makes a case for Go Vacation over Wii Sports, a reminder that everyone's imaginary Wii shelf looks a little different.

Elsewhere in the fifteen-upload week, "2D + 3D + RPG = ???" asks which genre suits Mario best. "This Game Made Me Scared Of The Dark" takes a spooky turn, while "I mean it's Friday the 16th...but CLOSE ENOUGH!!!" gets its joke from the calendar rather than waiting for the right Friday.

Overall viewing is close to its usual daily level, and subscribers were unchanged over seven days. DKOldies and fellow retailer Secret Castle Toys and Games each added about six million views over that period.

The freshest momentum belongs to the hardware and order showcases: "One of the COOLEST colored retro consoles" has the highest daily viewing rate, followed by "This order is in a IVY LEAGUE of its own!!!" and "Favorite SNES!!" Fitness may have drawn the week's largest new audience, but console collecting has plenty of activity of its own.
