How can a growing economy be a problem? That is the paradox in "Why Europe's GDP Growth Is Crippling Its Economy," the one new video on Economics Explained this week. It went up on September 27 and has already passed half a million views, moving several times faster than the channel's whole catalog usually does in a day.

The title does the arguing here. The description offers nothing beyond the usual thanks to supporters, a list sorted, fittingly for an economics channel, into royalty, upper, middle and working-class tiers. Wendover Productions turns up among the upper middle class.

Behind the new video, two earlier ones keep ticking along. "Has Inequality Ever Been Worse?" is eight days old and still drawing a steady stream. "Finally a Country Is Taxing Its Billionaires" is the channel's big total of the month, at 20 days old. Together the three make something of a loose run on who holds the money and who pays.

Among explainer and education channels, Economics Explained sits fourth by subscribers. BradyYourTutor and Extra History are both running a little above their usual pace, and YaleCourses is having a noticeably busier stretch than normal.
