Yamal's goal doesn't settle Moreno's questions about lost possession
The ESPN FC analyst points to the captain's armband as another reason Barcelona's star must take greater care with the ball.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 231,156 views a day, 35 times a normal first day on this channel (6,536).
Moreno CALLS OUT Yamal after performance vs. PSG 😬
Alejandro Moreno makes room for admiration before delivering the criticism. "Lord, this kid, as we have been saying, he's special," he says of Lamine Yamal. But a fine goal against PSG does not, in his view, wipe away what happened before it.
In ESPN UK's short studio excerpt, Moreno examines Yamal's performance in Barcelona's 4-2 Champions League defeat. His concern is specific: unnecessary losses of possession in dangerous areas, which he says helped PSG launch attacks and led to their first goal.
For manager Hansi Flick, Moreno argues, the response should involve both appreciation and correction. A player who can solve a problem by scoring still needs to hear that he helped create problems elsewhere. Moreno's final detail sharpens the point: Yamal finished the match wearing the captain's armband.
The clip drew an estimated 230,000 views in its first day, roughly thirty-five times ESPN UK's usual start for Shorts. The comments were also far busier than usual, with viewers debating how much responsibility belongs to an individual attacker. Several point instead to Barcelona's midfield support, defensive work and difficulty escaping PSG's pressure; others discuss Yamal's turnovers.
For viewers wanting the wider match discussion, ESPN UK also posted a longer reaction with Kay Murray, Moreno, Craig Burley, Frank Leboeuf and Jürgen Klinsmann. That upload, too, drew well above the channel's usual first-day audience for regular videos.

Pedri and Vitinha today were such a joy to watch
@GermacideSee it on YouTubeYamal was way too isolated today because of PSG's high pressure. He still made many good runs, but these were often vs multiple PSG players. It was more about the PSG system working as Barcelona couldn't beat the midfield line and break forward with numbers to create actual danger.

This was a collective collapse of the team not solely on Yamal. Barcelona couldn't cope with Paris' press and off the ball movement. They were more aggressive and sharper.

The numbers
The Yamal excerpt stands out against ESPN UK's usual Shorts audience. The longer PSG-Barcelona discussion also had a strong first day within its own format.
