  1. 0:24Rosberg wins the opening races while poor starts and first-corner incidents complicate Hamilton's campaign.
  2. 5:40The Mercedes teammates collide on Spain's opening lap, eliminating both cars.
  3. 7:35Hamilton takes his first win of the season after Ricciardo's troubled Monaco pit stop.
  4. 11:06A final-lap collision in Austria leaves Rosberg's car damaged and Hamilton taking victory.
  5. 17:18Hamilton backs Rosberg toward the chasing pack in Abu Dhabi, resisting instructions to increase his pace.

Mercedes loses both cars. At the Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg collide on the opening lap, turning a championship contest into a difficult afternoon for their own team. It's one of the defining scenes in FORMULA 1's most-watched new upload, "The Legendary 2016 Mercedes Title Race."

The retrospective has drawn roughly 1.5 million views, following Rosberg's opening winning streak through Hamilton's recovery, another collision in Austria and the tense Abu Dhabi finale. There, Hamilton slows the pace to bring the chasing cars closer to Rosberg, even as Mercedes tells him to accelerate. His radio response makes the priorities plain: "Right now I'm losing the world championship, so not really bothered if I win or lose this race."

The comments bridge generations of viewers. Some remember watching the season live; others point out how many newer fans missed it. Daniel Ricciardo's troubled Monaco pit stop remains a sore memory, and there are requests for a feature-length treatment of 2021 next.

Across 15 uploads, the channel also looked forward. "Rafael Camara's Journey To F1 | Haas' New Driver From 2027!" introduces the Brazilian's route toward his announced Haas seat. Away from driving, Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and Pierre Gasly tackle oversized cards in "Giant UNO Challenge! Feat. Lando, Oscar & Pierre."

Subscribers held steady, while the channel added about 34 million views over the week. Its current daily viewing is well below its usual pace, a slowdown also visible at MotoGP and McLaren; NASCAR is having a busier-than-usual spell.

Austin supplies much of FORMULA 1's immediate momentum: a McLaren collision clip, the closing laps of Kimi Räikkönen's final F1 victory in 2018, and fresh extended highlights of Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel's duel at COTA's first Grand Prix in 2012.
