Monaco, Pakistan and AI riches carry hoser to a million subscribers

A September video on five levels of economic growth is pulling in viewers again, and the whole channel is running at more than twice its usual pace.

Why this story? The channel passed the 1,000,000 subscribers mark.

On an ordinary day, hoser's back catalog and new uploads draw around half a million views between them. Lately they have been drawing more than double that, and somewhere in the rush the channel crossed a million subscribers.

The about page keeps it short: "Videos about the world." The uploads since October 1 take that literally. "Fighting over SWEDEN?" came first, then "How did Monaco get SO rich?" Next was "How to actually get rich from AI," which has passed 800,000 views in four days and is the biggest of the recent run. Two more arrived on the same day: "Why isn't Pakistan India?" and the puzzling "How Orlando* was killed by Brazil," asterisk included. A city-state's fortune, a partition question and a Florida mystery traced to South America, all in under a week.

The surprise is an older video. "Here are 5 levels of economic growth" went up on September 11 and has been gathering views at a steady pace ever since. Now it is pulling in several times its usual daily share and edging toward 860,000 views. Maybe the people who came for the AI money video went looking for more about money?

When hoser last appeared here, Texas Cat was giving geography lessons and Loving County had a mascot, as we reported here. The million arrives through economics, not cats: a channel named after an old piece of Canadian slang for a dope, now explaining how countries get rich.
