A prophet, a Sunday audience and Abner Gelin's Creole take on Washington

All six uploads were Gelin's commentaries on American politics, and the Sunday episode passed 100,000 views on its first day.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What does a Haitian news channel talk about for a whole week? American politics, in Haitian Creole. Every one of the six uploads on Haitian Public Media belongs to Abner Gelin, and every title is a string of headlines: the Supreme Court, the fight for Congress, data centers, taxes, Democrats and the GOP.

The most watched is the Sunday edition, "PWAL GEN KOURI - ÉTAZINI FINI AMBA KORIPSTION - DÉMOKRAT AP PRÉPARÉ - YON PROFÈT PALÉ", roughly "there will be running, America is sunk in corruption, Democrats are getting ready, a prophet has spoken". The comment section reads like a church lobby. Viewers wish him a good Sunday in Creole, French and English, and several call him a pastor and the show a sermon.

The newest episode, on good news for Democrats and a GOP said to be panicking over a 1% chance, is moving fastest, with more than 85,000 views in its first 15 hours. That is close to what each of Gelin's videos does: nearly all of them reach the 85,000 to 100,000 range within a day, then settle down.

The channel as a whole kept to its usual pace, and the subscriber count held at 579,000. Among political commentary channels of similar size, Harry Sisson and Rationality Rules are running well above their normal speed. Haitian Public Media is keeping to its own routine of one Gelin commentary a day, delivered in Creole.
