Why this story? The whole channel is running at 119,821 views a day, 6.7 times a normal day (17,829).
KELWAK's travel-heavy run has a new address: a New York City studio. Kelly Wakasa's latest upload, "what's happening in my new NYC studio", returns to the city named in the channel's deliberately brief introduction, "vlogs + nyc".
The channel is drawing roughly 120,000 views a day, well above its usual pace. The studio vlog has reached about 178,000 views since arriving on October 18, though the channel-wide jump cannot be attributed to that upload alone.
It's a change of setting after September's "our first family vacation in NANTUCKET" and "the worst day in nantucket". Travel has also supplied some of KELWAK's most-watched regular videos, including "what happened in jamaica" and "what happened in japan".
The studio title brings the focus back home without abandoning that diary-like approach: not a formal tour announcement, but another "what's happening" entry, this time from a new workspace.
