Find your WHY? and your @youtube community will find YOU! #ad
Maddie Moate has been making science videos for children since 2013, and her busiest video right now is not about science at all. "Find your WHY? and your @youtube community will find YOU!" is a short, six-week-old thank-you to the people who have kept her channel going, with a nudge for anyone wondering whether to start one or keep at it. It is still gathering thousands of views a day, far more than anything else on her shelf.
The one new video of the week is pure October: "8 EASY Halloween FACE PAINTS for KIDS." The tags give away some of the cast (a spider, a zombie, a pumpkin, a skeleton), and the description promises a few facts along the way, which is very much her habit. One parent in the comments has already picked the grey wolf for this year's costumes, another wants to know whether an apron is needed, and one history-minded viewer points out that potatoes reached Britain long after the Celts were carving anything.
It has started gently, at the pace of a seasonal video that tends to do its work closer to the day itself. The channel as a whole is running a little above its usual pace, and the subscriber count held steady at 353,000.
Among the children's learning channels nearest her in size, this is a quiet stretch next to the heavyweights: Handyman Hal and Rock 'N Learn count their weekly views in millions. EYR, the one neighbor close to her size, moved at much the same gentle speed.
