Michael Storen sets a "1000 IQ" bar for comments

The tongue-in-cheek invitation is nearing three million views alongside an unusually large jump in subscribers.

Why this story? The channel is adding 80,028 subscribers a day, 19 times a normal day (4,206).

Michael Storen has added about 80,000 subscribers in a day, far beyond his usual pace, with a deliberately extravagant invitation sitting among his recent Shorts.

"Only people who have 1000 IQ can comment on this video…" is approaching three million views. Its first-day audience was several times larger than a typical Storen Short attracts. The title is a joke, not an actual intelligence requirement for joining the comment section.

The subscriber jump and the video's strong start coincide, though that does not establish how many new subscribers came from this particular upload. Elsewhere on the channel, his dog-facts Short has also passed the million-view mark.

Storen's other recent uploads take a more familiar social situation, a late-night text that actually gets a reply, and a more tangled comedy premise: "Me reacting to me reacting to me (Ft. @icycol)." That one puts a collaborator inside the recursive joke.

The numbers

The subscriber jump is much sharper than the channel's increase in daily views. The "1000 IQ" Short also stands well above its usual first-day audience.
