Friday the 13th (1980) 4K - Kevin Bacon Dies (2/10) | Movieclips
Movieclips has returned to Crystal Lake, where Kevin Bacon's Jack gets barely half a minute of peace before a quiet bedroom becomes a slasher set piece.
The channel's excerpt from Friday the 13th (1980) has drawn nearly 100,000 views in fourteen hours. It's a clip from Sean S. Cunningham's film, not a new performance by Bacon, and it arrives alongside several other scenes from the original camp-counselor nightmare.
There is no dialogue to soften the suspense. Jack relaxes in bed beside a candle, smoking, until drops of liquid land on him. He reaches up in confusion; an unseen attacker interrupts the moment from beneath the bed. The upload's title gives away his fate, but the scene still builds around the brief gap between noticing something wrong and understanding it.
The comments connect Bacon's appearance with another future star's early horror role: Johnny Depp in A Nightmare on Elm Street. Both films offer the pleasure of spotting a familiar face before the career that made them famous.
Movieclips' other fresh Crystal Lake excerpts concentrate on Alice, played by Adrienne King, and her encounters with Betsy Palmer's Mrs. Voorhees. Bacon's short, largely silent scene puts a different corner of the same film in the spotlight.
