She Didn’t Want To Trust a Stranger!

The guitar is already a gift for her sister. Letting a stranger loose on it with spray paint is an extra leap of trust.

In Mr. Spray's "She Didn't Want To Trust a Stranger!", the host approaches a woman carrying an acoustic guitar in a plastic bag. She hesitates, then agrees to the free makeover and brings it over to street artist Stanislav, also called Stani. Her instructions are simple: her sister wants red and pink.

The Short has drawn more than a quarter of a million views in fourteen hours, putting its early viewing pace at roughly ten times the channel's usual Shorts start. The comments are already busier than a typical full first day, too.

Stanislav masks off the guitar's back and builds a landscape with a planet, clouds and mountains, using paper techniques, spray paint and bursts of flame. Stencils add a Japanese torii gate and a sword-carrying samurai silhouette. The woman says she has never seen spray painting in person before. This is quite an introduction.

Among the comments are questions about the fire technique, a worry about the guitar strings and a request for a laptop makeover. But the detail that makes this particular transformation a gift rather than just a demonstration comes near the end: Stanislav adds the sister's name before peeling away the tape.

"I love it. She's going to love it also," the woman says as she sees the finished guitar.
