"Journeys for Animal Survival (Full Episode) | Great Migrations | Nat Geo Animals" has drawn about 36,000 views. This is the series' 2010 opening episode, "Born to Move," narrated by Alec Baldwin, rather than a newly filmed expedition. Its journeys connect wildebeest in the Serengeti, Christmas Island's red crabs, North America's monarch butterflies and sperm whales meeting around the Azores.

Some of its most striking moments are small acts of protection. A mother zebra chases cheetahs away from her foal; female sperm whales watch over calves while other adults dive for food. The dangers are not confined to big predators, either: invasive yellow crazy ants attack migrating crabs with acid. Viewers are discussing the endurance these journeys demand, with one pointing specifically to the zebra mother's defense.

The other new uploads keep survival at the center. A whale compilation brings together orca hunting, marine biologist Ryan Johnson's shark research and OceanXplorers' humpback encounters. "Young Blood (Full Episode) | Botswana | Nat Geo Animals" follows young predators and prey learning to survive.

Across the channel, the week brought nearly five million views and a growing subscriber audience, although daily viewing is currently below its usual pace. Among nearby documentary channels, FRONTLINE PBS is enjoying a pronounced daily lift. Nat Geo Animals' strongest current momentum belongs to its earlier Tibetan grasslands episode, followed by Anand Varma's search for carnivorous bats in the Mexican jungle.
