His new London-themed video has reached nearly a quarter-million views, alongside a sharp jump in daily channel viewing.

Why this story? The whole channel is running at 122,519 views a day, 10 times a normal day (11,923).

Neel Kolhatkar's channel usually adds views in the low tens of thousands each day. This time, it added about 123,000, a substantial change from the quieter stretch around his "Italy in World War 2" upload.

The new arrival is "UK Gang Culture #uk #london #southlondon #ukdrill," posted four days ago and already approaching a quarter-million views. Its London and South London tags bring a British subject back into the Australian comedian's lineup. In August, he posted "I love UK Drill # #comedy #standupcomedy #ukdrill #drill #hiphop," so this isn't his first visit to the music and its surrounding culture.

Between those uploads, Kolhatkar turned to subjects closer to home: university consultants in "Australian Universities Are Cooked," co-written with Angus Gordon, and a fictional Australia in 2076 in "Australia in 50yrs - White Voice to Parliament." That latter sketch features Ash Chapman, Shash Kapur and Lachlan McAllister. The new upload takes his comedy's geographic focus back to Britain.
