Daz and Will try chewing the cracker pellets before discovering the important instruction: fry them. The stove soon supplies a much more promising result, as the little pieces puff up in hot oil.

That kitchen detour is part of "Daz and Wills Builder Picks A Box Of Mystery," Off The Hook's only new upload this week. Their builder, Richard, supplies the taped cardboard box; the pair supply increasingly suspicious inspections of its contents. It drew roughly 171,000 views in its first eleven hours.

The selection includes fiery, jelly-textured konjac strips, papery dried shiitake mushrooms and pineapple biscuits that leave Will unconvinced. Preserved olives and a tin of crispy baby clams follow. The video also includes a sponsored Whatnot segment.

In the comments, the mushrooms prompt practical suggestions about soup and broth, while another viewer recognizes a Lady and the Tramp-style food-sharing moment in the opening. There are requests for more Waterpark Simulator and Alien Gas Station, too: even a snack tasting can become a suggestions box for the pair's gaming sessions.

The mystery box is the channel's busiest video right now, followed by "Daz & Will Chase Tornados!" Their old-Vine laugh test also continues drawing views and is approaching a million in total.

Across Off The Hook, subscribers were unchanged over the week, while daily views are running below their usual level. Nearby comedy channel Fairbairn Films is also having a slower spell; Colby Martel is seeing substantially more activity than usual. Here, Richard's parcel gives the week its particular flavor, with a brief cooking lesson hidden among the taste tests.

What viewers say

The dried mushrooms are good to add to soups or ramen. I use the dried mushrooms to make wonton soup broth. It’s delicious.
