Mic'd-up golf brings Wyndham Clark into the PGA Tour spotlight

A BMW Championship final round with Rory McIlroy anchors a slate that also finds room for barefoot recovery work.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Too good of a tee shot to ignore 😂Too good of a tee shot to ignore 😂

The PGA Tour added more weekly views than any of its nearby sports-channel peers, with Wimbledon and New Zealand Cricket drawing totals in much the same neighborhood. Subscribers grew too, even though the channel's daily viewing is currently a little below its usual level.

Across fifteen uploads, the biggest new draw was a tee-shot clip drawn from Wyndham Clark's mic'd-up final round at the BMW Championship. It has passed half a million views. A separate upload puts Clark and Rory McIlroy's round front and center, part of the tour's Chasing Sunday: Unheard series. For a sport usually heard through commentary and polite applause, the player microphone offers a different way into Sunday golf.

The strongest daily momentum now belongs to Jordan Spieth's "Never a doubt.", followed by a Hideki Matsuyama clip built around his habit of disliking shots the description suggests he ought to enjoy. Spieth's famously adventurous recoveries and Matsuyama's exacting reactions make rather different character studies. A compilation of unlucky shots from the season is also gathering attention.

The archive supplied some particularly resourceful golf. Tiger Woods plays left-handed from beneath a bush, while Nicholas Thompson's par save at the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational involves removing his shoes and socks and stepping ankle-deep into the water. Not every useful piece of golf equipment comes out of the bag.
