Tyrus has worked on both sides of the camera: first in a WWE ring as Brodus Clay, the dancing "Funkasaurus," and later at a Fox News desk. In the newest full episode of Planet Tyrus, he points that experience at the man whose career touches both worlds, Donald Trump.

The chapters move from Trump as a pop-culture figure before politics to the 2016 campaign and election night. They then turn to Tyrus's own path, which the description sums up as a shift from voting for Obama to supporting Trump. Talking with Ryan, he recalls meeting Trump for the first time, getting a personal phone call, sitting down to dinners at Mar-a-Lago, and what he believes the media gets wrong. The wrestling thread runs through it: the description mentions watching Trump at WrestleMania, which was staged at his Trump Plaza in Atlantic City in 1988 and 1989.

The episode had close to 60,000 views 13 hours after it went up. A regular Planet Tyrus episode usually ends its first day under 10,000. The comments came in even faster, more than 200 where a first day normally brings a handful. Many viewers take up the episode's own question about the media, and one of the most liked comments comes from a Nashville songwriter who says Tyrus once reposted his song without knowing who he was.

Thursday's other full episode was quieter: Eric Bischoff and Tyrus remembering Hulk Hogan and the man behind the persona. Shorts cut from the Trump conversation went up alongside it, among them Tyrus reacting to getting the president's direct phone number. None of them came near the long version.
