ABOVE THE BELOW Official Trailer (2026) Idris Elba

How much comfort can a calm voice offer inside a flooding space capsule? In the Above the Below trailer, a frightened astronaut tells Idris Elba's character, "I don't think I can do this." His response is to steady her breathing, even as the trailer makes clear how little air the crew has left.

Rapid Trailer's copy of the Lionsgate preview reached about 230,000 views in twelve hours, an unusually fast start for the trailer-sharing channel's short uploads. Its comment section has also already drawn several times the channel's usual full first day's comments.

The film, also starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin, gives its astronauts a second survival ordeal after a catastrophic return from space. Their capsule plunges into the ocean, leaving them trapped at depth with oxygen running out. Red emergency lighting, water pouring into the cabin and burning debris falling toward the sea give the preview its setting; Elba's measured instructions supply the contrast.

Viewers pick up on that voice, with some singling out his opening lines. Others turn the film's name into an imaginary franchise, proposing reversed and expanded titles for sequels. The trailer closes with a December 4 theatrical release date.
