Ryan Tricks' whiteboard puzzle has viewers showing their work
A multiplying sequence is drawing fresh views, while commenters question the claim that so few people can solve it.
Why this story? The video is running at 22,290 views a day, 7.2 times its usual pace (3,099).
Let’s see how smart you are
Does this one really stump almost everyone? Ryan Tricks introduces his whiteboard sequence by saying only five percent of people get it right. In the comments, viewers are busy explaining the answer and questioning that opening claim.
The puzzle is spare: 1, 2, 6, 24, 120, then red question marks. An unseen presenter gives viewers a countdown before rubbing out the question marks with his finger. At about forty seconds, he writes the answer: 720.
The trick is to multiply by the next whole number at each step: first by two, then three, then four, and so on. Several commenters recognize the factorial sequence; another admits to reaching the right answer by an entirely different route. Others describe needing a little time before the pattern clicked.
Posted nearly two weeks ago, "Let's see how smart you are" has added roughly 22,000 views in a day, more than seven times its usual daily pace. That burst comes while viewing across Ryan's channel is below its usual level.
Math riddles have company among his pranks and magic: his recent uploads also include "Only 10% of people get this right" and "This kid always tricks his Dad with crazy equations." Here, though, the explanation is simply successive multiplication, with every step written beside the original sequence.

@Tips_TricksandShortcutsYTSee it on YouTubeIt's like x2, x3, x4, x5, then x6. So the answer should be 720
