Two dives, one name, and a Lifeline Australia ride ahead for Sam Fricker
Only a capital letter and a full stop separate Thursday's two dive Shorts, and the lowercase one drew the bigger crowd.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 67,935 views a day, 6.9 times a normal first day on this channel (9,872).
Sam fricker diving
Same dive, different spelling. Sam Fricker posted two Shorts on Thursday, one titled "Sam fricker diving" and the other "Sam Fricker Diving.", and the capitals and a closing full stop are about all that tells them apart on his page.
The lowercase one went much further. It passed 72,000 views in its first 25 hours, around seven times the usual first day for one of his Shorts, and the likes came in more than four times faster than normal. Its twin also ran well ahead of his usual pace, just not as far.
The comments are short and come from all over. One Spanish-speaking viewer was glad the clip ends without music, so the splash can be heard. A Polish viewer says the takeoff has to be powerful. And Brittany gets another hello.
The rest of his newest uploads are less about the pool. Fricker, the Australian platform diver who competed at the Tokyo Olympics, says he is looking forward to riding on Sunday to support Lifeline Australia, where he is an ambassador. He also posted a pitch for keynote speaking, an episode of a podcast called A Wake Up Call and a clip from Mykonos. The dives draw the crowd, and the other videos show what he is building around them.

The numbers
One Short ran far past the channel's usual first day, and its near-twin from the same Thursday also beat it comfortably.
