Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

"This is Gust Avrakotos" (Philip Seymour Hoffman) | Charlie Wilson's War

A character introduction from a 2007 movie has become Screen Bites' most-watched new upload. "\"This is Gust Avrakotos\" (Philip Seymour Hoffman) | Charlie Wilson's War" is approaching 100,000 views, putting Hoffman's CIA operative at the center of the clips channel's fifteen-upload week.

Mike Nichols directed the film from Aaron Sorkin's screenplay, a combination that gives its political maneuvering plenty of verbal snap. The comments focus on Hoffman's range and his ability to command a scene, with one viewer picking out a less glamorous supporting feature: the thickness of a door.

Gust has company across the new selections. Tom Hanks' congressman meets an unassuming intelligence specialist in "This Is How The CIA Actually Recruits People (Tom Hanks) | Charlie Wilson's War", while Julia Roberts' Joanne Herring hosts a gathering in another excerpt. The recruitment scene is now drawing views faster than the introduction, and those two clips plus the Herring scene account for the channel's strongest daily momentum.

Elsewhere, "Madeline and Helen's Immortal Brawl | Death Becomes Her" offers a rather different negotiation: Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn discovering the complications of fighting when neither character can die.

Screen Bites added roughly 5.5 million views over the week, while its subscriber count stayed unchanged. Daily viewing is modestly above its usual level. Among nearby movie channels, Scene Slice is experiencing a sharper daily lift, but Screen Bites' own new-upload story belongs firmly to Gust and his Washington conversations.
