Sports lawyer explains what Manchester City charges verdict means for the club

What does a verdict on the Manchester City charges actually mean for the club? Sky Sports News put that question to a sports lawyer, and eight hours after the answer went up it had passed 400,000 views.

That is roughly eighteen times what a new upload on the channel usually gathers across its whole first day. The rest of Sky Sports News was running well short of its normal daily pace. The spike belongs to this one video, and it also drew a lively comment section for a legal explainer.

The case goes back to February 2023, when the Premier League charged City with more than a hundred alleged breaches of its financial rules. It became one of the longest-running stories in English football. The title promises no hot takes and no shouting, only someone who knows the rulebook walking through what comes next for the club.
