Story of Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Stone Face Memes has passed 44 million views in total, and its newest stretch reads like a late-night guest list. Prof Speaks, the voice behind the clips channel, put up fifteen Shorts in seven days, each one an old celebrity moment with his own face-cam reaction and commentary laid over it.
Ozzy Osbourne got two of them. The busiest of the week, "Ozzy Osborne heard a question that was insulting," has the commenters hooked on one premise: somebody apparently suggested that Ozzy and Sharon had no idea about drug addiction. Most of the comment section is people laughing at the very thought, one offers a line about fish not knowing how wet water is, and several want to know who on earth asked the Prince of Darkness that. The second Ozzy clip goes for the other famous thing about him, admitting that his English can be hard to follow.
The Ozzy question had the big first day, but the clips moving fastest now are newer. "The night emma stone somehow created two separate memes at once with Jonah Hill" (the pair starred together in Superbad) and a Brad Pitt clip about nearly breaking character are both drawing more views a day. Charlie Sheen being questioned directly and David Spade improvising a buzzer sound filled out the run.
The channel as a whole ran at less than half its usual daily pace, and the subscriber count held where it was. Among the movie and TV channels nearest its size, Stone Face Memes still drew the second most views over the seven days, behind Eggdar, which is having an enormous week.
