Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Brobbey's strength is unmatched. 💪

Sunderland's forward line stretched across generations on the official channel: Brian Brobbey supplied the biggest new audience, while Jermain Defoe and Kenwyne Jones gave supporters two familiar names to revisit.

"Brobbey's strength is unmatched. 💪" reached about 67,000 views. The title makes the club's admiration clear; in the replies, one viewer draws attention to a dummy involving James Tarkowski and wants others to see the angle from behind Brobbey. It is a specific bit of skill to discuss alongside the clip's emphasis on strength.

Defoe's upload asks "Is this the BEST ever Jermain Defoe goal!? 🚀", while "The streets won't forget Kenwyne Jones..." takes a more nostalgic route. Both strikers had substantial Sunderland spells, so these are names with a place in the club's memory, not just visiting highlights. Elsewhere, Enzo Le Fée and Luke O'Nien join the MARRAS series, and another upload asks the players which stadium they would love to play at.

The week's viewing focus has since shifted to the Brighton match. "Sunderland AFC 0 - 2 Brighton & Hove Albion | Premier League Highlights" is now attracting the most daily views, followed by Le Bris and Danso's post-match reaction. Subscribers were unchanged over the week, and daily viewing is currently below its usual pace. Nearby football channels had very different weeks: Conner Cole drew a much larger audience, while Daily Mail Football was quieter than Sunderland.

The training film provides the useful companion to the match coverage: Nilson Angulo and Wilson Isidor return, with chapters moving from arrivals through gym work, the training pitch and goalkeeper drills before the intensity increases.

What viewers say

There's a view from behind Brobbey online somewhere, so you can see the dummy he sold while Tarkowski was on the floor. Sublime!
