Southampton and Portsmouth get the extended derby treatment
EFL's longer south coast highlights have a much larger audience than the compact edit, alongside a sharply busier day for the channel.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 818,468 views a day, 10 times a normal day (81,074).
The longer version is the draw on EFL's Southampton-Portsmouth highlights shelf. Posted Sunday, "SOUTH COAST DERBY | Southampton v Portsmouth extended highlights" has attracted around 41,000 views, far more than the compact "Southampton v Portsmouth Highlights" uploaded the same day.
These are two Hampshire clubs whose meetings give south coast soccer a distinctly local focus. The extended edit offers supporters more of the occasion than the shorter package, and it is the larger draw among the channel's recent uploads listed here.
EFL also added roughly 818,000 views across the channel in a day, about ten times its usual pace. That is a channel-wide rise, not a total that can be credited to the derby alone.
Elsewhere on its upload shelf, the league paired match action with "World Mental Health Day | EFL stars spread positivity 📱❤️", giving its players a different kind of spotlight alongside the weekend highlights.
