What does a paper keyboard key undo? On The Koalas JJ, the answer is the whole point of the craft. Jake and Jovi, the cartoon koala twins who host the channel, folded a keyboard fidget out of paper and gave it the most forgiving shortcut on any computer: Ctrl + Z. The title calls it "The Most Satisfying DIY Keyboard Fidget," and the description keeps things simpler, a paper fidget made for fun.
It went up on Tuesday and spent its first day at about 36,000 views, an unhurried start for a channel with nearly a million subscribers. Then, on its third day, it brought in more than 600,000 views. It now stands close to 700,000, and the likes kept pace, with several thousand more in a single day.
As we reported here, the fidget arrived the same week The Koalas JJ passed 1.3 billion views in total. It sits on a shelf of recent paper builds: a pizza that doubles as a pencil holder, a dancing paper trick, a Pokémon Charizard and a Halloween guess-the-monster game. Nearly every one is tagged with Sprunki, the fan-made Incredibox characters the twins keep bringing back.
The whole channel had a much bigger day than usual. Create by K, another craft channel of about the same size, was also well ahead of its normal pace. For Jake and Jovi, the week also added 10,000 subscribers, which puts the million within sight.
