Castle breakfast becomes a talking point on The Rest Is Entertainment

Richard Osman and Marina Hyde's Celebrity Traitors recap explores shields, comedian instincts and the timing of breakfast.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Is Breakfast Giving the Traitors Away?Is Breakfast Giving the Traitors Away?

Hannah Fry's round-table tactics have given The Rest Is Entertainment's viewers plenty to untangle. Beneath "Is Breakfast Giving the Traitors Away?", several argue that refusing to vote for Julie was a longer-term attempt to shift suspicion, rather than simply a decision about that night's banishment.

That episode-four recap was the most watched of the channel's thirteen uploads, reaching roughly 206,000 views. Richard Osman and Marina Hyde ask whether the Faithful comedians are a formidable group, why shields complicate the round table, and exactly when castle breakfast happens. The episode is sponsored.

It followed "Can You Be Too Clever for The Traitors?", which considers Hannah's decision and the dangers of herd mentality. Both recaps remain among the channel's most active videos. Viewers are also discussing James Acaster's apparently reluctant approach to the game, with some arguing that keeping his familiar persona is precisely what makes it effective.

Away from the castle, "When the Royals Went Full Disney" gave Richard and Marina a varied Q&A: an unusual royal television appearance, the economics of The Chase, payments for television experts and Netflix's Roald Dahl adaptations. Their Tom Cruise box-office discussion also remained a substantial part of the week's viewing.

The channel added about 2,000 subscribers over seven days, although its current daily viewing is below its usual level. Among nearby entertainment channels, HeroTimes and Crotst Oqu had much larger weekly audiences, while Dave Lee Down Under and Sardonicast had quieter weeks.

The strongest daily momentum now belongs to a more personal subject: "What's next for Marina after leaving The Guardian?" puts one of the hosts, rather than a castle contestant or Hollywood star, at the center of the conversation.

What viewers say

  • Hannah made that play at the end of the round table to tie her situation to Julie's, knowing that Julie will reveal she is faithful. It was a short-term risk on the vote count for a stronger long game . There's not much she can really do to shift suspicion, but that was a clever move.
  • For someone who doesn't really want to be a Traitor, James is playing it perfectly. He hasn't changed his persona at all.

  • I absolutely LOVE The Celebrity Traitors. I think they need to do a spin-off episode during the week where we see a little bit more of the celebrity conversations that are not directly about who the traitors are. I’d love to see the more personal interactions.

  • Hannah's tactic made sense. She was saying don't vote for Julie so people would use the same rationale later to not vote for her. And if she doesn't vote for the person who's taking heat with her, it's an act of innocence.

  • James Acaster is playing an incredible game, albeit reluctantly.

  • If Miranda Hart doesn’t get her own period detective drama after this - then I’ll eat Ross’s captain hat

  • My prediction is that James is pretty close to throwing a large cake in a bin.
