Story of Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The CLOSETocracy
Cenk Uygur steps outdoors for a brief announcement rather than a panel discussion. He introduces an investigative documentary, The CLOSETocracy, and frames its allegations about an unnamed U.S. senator as questions of hypocrisy and national security.
That teaser, posted as "BOMBSHELL: US Senator Caught In Scandal," is The Young Turks' most-watched new upload of the week, approaching a quarter-million views. The documentary itself has also arrived on the channel. It presents firsthand accounts from men describing paid sexual encounters with a senator; those accounts are allegations, not established findings. The Young Turks distributes the film rather than producing it.
Across fifteen uploads, the week also reaches well beyond that release. Yasmin Aliya Khan and Jackson White discuss proposed Ukrainian land concessions in "Zelenskyy Signals SHOCKING Concession For Peace." Khan joins Wosny Lambre for coverage of congressional candidate Brad Lander's detention while helping harvest olives in the West Bank. The documentary teaser, the film and the Ukraine discussion are the channel's most active videos right now.
Daily viewing is running at nearly four times the channel's usual pace, while its subscriber count is unchanged over the week. Nearby political-commentary channels Valuetainment and Philip DeFranco are also seeing above-usual daily viewing. For The Young Turks, the distinctive addition is a separately produced documentary sitting alongside its regular host-led analysis.
