Spider-Man wishes and disaster-movie rescues keep TUHS in view
With no new uploads, the clips channel added about four million views from its existing catalog.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
"What's Your Biggest Wish?" #edit #shorts #trending
What's there to catch up on when TUHS posts nothing new? A wish-themed Spider-Man edit, a disaster-movie rescue and a nostalgic trip through a video-game-inspired commercial give three quite different answers.
The busiest is "\"What's Your Biggest Wish?\" #edit #shorts #trending", which is approaching ten million views. Its credits bring together HiHo Kids, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, with She & Him's "I Thought I Saw Your Face Today" supplying the music. These are edited excerpts from other people's work, rather than original movie releases from the channel.
The older "He Flew The Plane and Saved Everyone | 2012 | Song - House Of Memories #edit #shorts" has the larger total audience, but is drawing fewer daily views than the wish-themed edit right now. It pairs footage from Roland Emmerich's 2009 disaster film with a slowed version of Panic! at the Disco's "House of Memories": cinematic peril with a pop soundtrack.
TUHS also has a more playful entry on its active shelf. "\"Life When This Song Was Trending\" #edit #trending #shorts" uses Aaron Smith's "Dancin" in its Krono remix, over footage from Coca-Cola's 2007 GTA-inspired commercial. The source footage is an advertisement, repurposed here as a music edit.
The channel gained subscribers over the week, and its daily viewing is currently above its usual pace. Among similarly sized channels, Josiah Fi had a particularly large viewing week, while The A.V. Club and Dan Murrell were quieter. TUHS's own activity came entirely without another upload, with the Spider-Man wish edit doing the most daily work.
