‘Two and a Half Men’ Season 1’s Silliest Moments

On a usual day, the official Two and a Half Men channel draws something like 680,000 views, which says a lot about how alive a sitcom that ended in 2015 still is. Over the past few days it ran a little above that, and the newest upload explains much of the lift.

"'Two and a Half Men' Season 1's Silliest Moments" goes back to where Chuck Lorre's comedy started: Charlie Sheen's jingle-writing bachelor in the Malibu beach house, Jon Cryer's freshly divorced Alan moving in, and a very young Angus T. Jones as Jake. The description opens with a line from the clip, "No, I will not 'sssshhh'!", which sets the tone. In its comments, viewers dwell on how much heart those early episodes had, how sympathetic Alan was in his first season, and how startlingly small Jake looks. One points to the moment Berta, Conchata Ferrell's housekeeper, fixes a problem with a big bottle of prune juice.

The rest of the five uploads were single scenes from across the run, from Judith delivering a sick Jake to Charlie's door in the third episode ever to Jake's teacher in season five, which started quickly too. Meanwhile a 33-minute reel of Charlie Harper's greatest hits, nine days old, has passed 400,000 views and keeps going.

Among the TV network and streaming channels around its size, only Fox Nation added more views over the week. Young Sheldon, the other Chuck Lorre sitcom in the group, is having a lively week of its own.
