Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Dreamcast startup on a space helmet crt tv

Sega gets two turns. Xtr3m3z's seven-upload week includes both "Sega Dreamcast" and "Dreamcast startup on a space helmet crt tv," pairing a console retrospective with a particularly distinctive way to display its startup.

The retrospective has the week's largest new audience, though only just: both Dreamcast uploads are around 20,000 views. The space-helmet CRT video drew more viewers in its first day and is now the channel's busiest video for daily views. Sega's final home console makes a fitting subject for this Australian collector's mix of gaming history and ASMR: the Dreamcast even put a small screen in its controller through the removable VMU memory unit.

Under "Sega Dreamcast," viewers discuss the console's design and its place in Sega history. One remembers buying theirs on its American launch date and continuing to enjoy it; another requests a LaserDisc player for a future hardware outing. The nostalgia extends beyond games to the machines that played them.

Elsewhere, "Playstation controller asmr and history" asks viewers to choose a favorite controller, while "PlayStation 3 asmr" covers the Phat, Slim and Super Slim models. NES Adventure Island and "No downloads, no updates, just 1980s gaming." bring the week back to simpler setups. An earlier collection of gaming-hardware sounds remains active, alongside a new visit to Sonic's Green Hill Zone.

The channel added subscribers and roughly 3.2 million views across the week, the largest weekly view gain among its nearby gaming peers. SlipperyHC had a stronger week for subscriber growth, while PufferPlays' daily viewing is below its usual pace. Xtr3m3z's own daily views are slightly below normal, but its most active upload offers a very specific attraction: the Dreamcast startup on that space-helmet CRT.
