Why this story? The channel went from 340,000 to 457,000 subscribers this week.
"Someone STOLE My Rarest Glitter Dumpling!" is one of the newest shorts on Zhong Clips, the channel that collects Zhong's quick prank-and-challenge videos. It is part of a small squishy streak. Two days later came "Do You Know EVERY Squishy Dumpling Color?" and then "What's INSIDE The Squishy Butter?", and those soft-toy shorts are drawing more views than anything else posted alongside them.
The bigger story is the channel itself. It picked up 117,000 subscribers in seven days, growing by more than a third to reach 457,000. Daily views have actually slowed from the pace the channel set before, so the new subscribers kept arriving even as the views eased off.
The longest upload of the week went the other way. "I destroyed Mr beast's Lamborghini *not clickbait* (Zhong Shorts)" is a compilation of nearly an hour, stitched from dozens of earlier bits: a car bubble, a sumo wrestler set against a roll of tape, a hunt for a rare dumpling, a handcuff test. It has gathered the fewest views of the newest batch. A magic-trick short, in which the description says Zhong pranks friends with his tricks, sits in between.
Small, squeezable and under a minute: on this channel, that is the format doing the work.
