Zelenskyy answers reporter's Trump "scapegoat" question with a smile

The Associated Press clip captures a brief response at the end of a Brussels press briefing, drawing an unusually large Shorts audience.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 189,704 views a day, 11 times a normal first day on this channel (17,171).

The reporter's question is lengthy. Volodymyr Zelenskyy's answer is not: he pauses, smiles and gestures toward his expression. "This is my answer," he says.

The exchange came at a press briefing in Brussels on Friday. An off-camera reporter raised Donald Trump's political problems, fuel prices and foreign policy challenges before asking whether the Ukrainian president believed Trump was treating him as a scapegoat. That framing came from the reporter; Zelenskyy did not expand on it in the clip.

Associated Press's Short drew about 120,000 views in its first ten hours, a much faster start than its usual uploads of the same format. The moment is compact enough to see in full, including the pause before Zelenskyy's response.

After smiling and briefly chuckling, he closes with "Thank you so much," gathers his notes and walks away from the lectern as the briefing ends.
