Ford Zodiac's rise and stumble fill Big Car's upload break
The British Ford retrospective approaches 300,000 views, alongside histories of 1970s vans and the SEAT Ibiza.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Hero… to Zero. The Ford Zodiac Story
Big Car posted nothing new, but its Ford Zodiac history gives the week a distinctly chrome-trimmed centerpiece. Released just before the upload break, “Hero… to Zero. The Ford Zodiac Story” explores the appeal of American-style glamour on British roads, then asks how Ford squandered that advantage and found a way back.
The Zodiac is drawing by far the most daily views of the channel's active titles. Further down the shelf, “Battle of the Vans. The 1970s Van Story” revisits Ford, Leyland and Bedford's commercial-vehicle contest, while “See it, SEAT, Sorted. The SEAT Ibiza Story” examines how an unlikely success helped sustain the Spanish automaker. Big Car's subjects don't all need tail fins to have a story.
The catalog added about 418,000 views over the week, and the channel gained subscribers despite the empty release calendar. Daily viewing is now running at roughly half its usual pace. Among similarly sized motoring channels, Bandita Drive and SocialOrbit had substantially busier viewing weeks, while The Skid Factory was quieter. For Big Car, the Zodiac remains the main draw: a dream-car premise with an engineering reversal at its heart.
