Rookie duties meet an age gap on Bleacher Report

Yaxel Lendeborg questions taking assignments from the younger Brandin Podziemski, alongside a busy slate of NBA preseason clips.

Being older doesn't necessarily spare you the rookie chores. Bleacher Report's most-watched new upload features Yaxel Lendeborg discussing whether Brandin Podziemski will give him rookie duties, despite Podziemski being a year younger.

The clip, credited to NBC Sports Bay Area's @NBCSAuthentic, drew roughly 32,000 views in six hours. Viewers picked up on the distinction between age and league seniority: some compared it to having an uncle younger than you, while others argued that time in the NBA is what counts.

It was part of a fifteen-upload week with plenty of preseason basketball. Victor Wembanyama blocked a shot before throwing himself an alley-oop against Sacramento. Philadelphia supplied Joel Embiid's scoring performance and a Tyrese Maxey-to-LeBron James alley-oop, while another clip highlighted Ben Simmons' contribution in the Kings' preseason finale. Boston's Hugo Gonzalez got the familiar freeze-frame-friendly question: how many steps was that?

Across the channel, weekly views reached about 44 million, the largest weekly gain among the nearby sports channels here. Subscribers were unchanged, but daily viewing is running roughly half again above its usual level. FOX Sports also had a particularly busy viewing day; NBC Sports and TNT Sports US were quieter than usual.

Among the uploads carrying momentum now is a reaction rather than just a play: Karl-Anthony Towns watching Jalen Brunson take over against Cleveland. On a shelf full of blocks, finishes and scoring bursts, there's room for the teammate watching it happen too.
