Hollywood gets a buy-or-sell check-in on Bloomberg Live
Matt Belloni and Lucas Shaw's live podcast recording shares the week with Emily Chang's conversation with Mark Rober about learning through creation.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The Town Live: Screentime 2026
The Town took the spotlight. Bloomberg Live's most watched new upload was a live recording of Matt Belloni's Hollywood-business podcast, with Bloomberg's Lucas Shaw joining him to work through their entertainment-industry "buys" and "sells." It drew roughly 3,200 views, the largest audience among the channel's seven uploads.
Screentime also offered a less boardroom-minded question: what would you wish for Hollywood? "Bloomberg Screentime: One Wish Willow" gathers attendees' hopes for more trust in the creative process, room for young voices and stories that inspire. Elsewhere, Nithya Raman argues for changing Los Angeles production laws to help keep filming in the city.
"The Takeaways with Emily Chang" turns to Mark Rober and CrunchLabs, exploring how making things and engaging video can help children develop skills in an AI-powered world. The week's subjects stretched beyond Hollywood, too: a Bloomberg Tech London preview covers AI, autonomous systems and quantum technology, while the Power Players sports summit looks at investment, broadcast rights, college sports and the WNBA.
Subscribers edged upward over the week, bringing Bloomberg Live to 198,000. Its daily viewing pace is currently well below its usual level. Nearby business channels BNN Bloomberg and TLDR Business are both having much busier-than-usual days, while WSJ Podcasts is quieter.
The strongest momentum on Bloomberg Live belongs to earlier Screentime conversations. Donna Langley's discussion of NBCUniversal's film, television and streaming strategy is its busiest video right now, closely followed by Gerry Cardinale's look at investing across sports, media and entertainment. The Town recording sits behind those two, keeping Hollywood's business decisions central to the viewing shelf.
