Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Britney Spears - Overprotected (Darkchild Remix - Official HD Video)

The song comes from Britney Spears' early-2000s catalog; its HD upload is less than two weeks old. "Britney Spears - Overprotected (Darkchild Remix - Official HD Video)" is the busiest of BritneySpearsVEVO's featured videos right now, drawing about 14,000 views a day.

There were no new uploads this week, so that recent addition provides the main catch-up. Darkchild is producer Rodney Jerkins, whose remix gives the song a different treatment from the version on Spears' 2001 album Britney. Its subject, wanting room to make your own choices, belongs to the song itself, without needing to turn this catalog release into a story about her private life.

Further down the collection, "Britney Spears - Don't Go Knockin' on My Door (Official Audio)" returns to Oops!... I Did It Again's assertive breakup pop. It and "Britney Spears - My Only Wish (This Year) (Official Lyric Video)" are each drawing hundreds of daily views, rather than the remix's thousands. The latter offers a distinctly different mood: a Christmas song built around wishing for romance.

BritneySpearsVEVO sits close to BBC Music in subscriber size, though the channels serve very different purposes: one houses an artist's official catalog, the other a broad range of music programming. Here, the useful discovery is a refreshed presentation of an older track, with the Darkchild remix nearing 700,000 views.
