A stained glass transom, cut and soldered by hand, finishes Danie's entryway
Three uploads close a months-long old-house project in Cobourg, from a closet torn out for a storage bench to the final cottage-core reveal.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
How I made this custom stained glass transom ✨ #stainedglass #tutorial
"How I made this custom stained glass transom" is exactly that: Danie Berger, the Ontario maker behind DIY In Progress, designing a small window for the top of her entry door, then cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering it before setting it in place. It was the first of three uploads this week, and so far the most watched of them, past 21,000 views.
The transom is one piece of a bigger job. The day after it went up, Danie posted the bench: she pulled out a closet to make room for a custom seat with hidden and closed shoe storage, built to fit walls and corners that refuse to be square. Then came the reveal, "My Moody Cottage-Core Entryway Transformation Is Finally Done!", which the description frames as the end of months of unexpected repairs and old-house surprises. The finished space mixes the bench and the window with vintage finds and handmade pottery from a local studio. The reveal is now gathering views a little faster than the glass video, which suggests people are following the series to its end.
Under the transom video, viewers point out how many surprises she had to work around along the way. Several push back, kindly, on her own verdict that the window is far from perfect. One has a standing request: an old glass-doored cabinet, refinished, with stained glass in place of the plain panes.
The channel as a whole ran a little slower than its usual pace, and the subscriber count held steady near 362,000. Among similar home and DIY channels, Dreamy Interior had another enormous week, while Artisan Electrics ran well above its norm.
