Emil Vergo brings fire drums to the Cranberries' "Zombie"
His October cover has passed 3.7 million views as daily viewing across the channel climbs to more than seven times its usual pace.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 5,206,383 views a day, 7.4 times a normal day (701,547).
The Cranberries and Evanescence have something in common on Emil Vergo's upload list: both get the fire-drums treatment. His cover of "Zombie," posted on October 12, has already drawn about 3.7 million views, adding another widely watched performance to his combustible rock repertoire.
Across the channel, daily viewing has climbed to roughly 5.2 million views, more than seven times its usual pace. That is a channel-wide jump, not a count for "Zombie" alone, but the Cranberries cover is a conspicuous addition to the recent lineup.
"Zombie," from the Cranberries' 1994 album No Need to Argue, gives Vergo a different kind of rock song to tackle after Evanescence's "Bring Me to Life." The latter also appears in an October upload billed around fire drums, while September's Måneskin cover, "Beggin," specifically featured fire drumsticks in its description.
Fire isn't the only element in Vergo's toolkit. His September take on Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" was presented as drums with water: a pop detour between those flame-themed rock covers.
