Sina's Prince cover gives Connie Brannock room to dance
The full-band take on "Kiss" is moving well beyond the channel's usual pace, with viewers picking up on Sina's smiles behind the kit.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 100,119 views a day, 6.5 times a normal first day on this channel (15,377).
Kiss (Prince) • Band Cover feat. the coolest grandma ever
Connie Brannock doesn't stay planted at the microphone. In a red sequined shirt, she dances around the studio, trades playful moments with the guitarist and saxophonist, and leans toward the keyboardist without giving up the vocal line.
Sina supplies the beat, and quite a few smiles, in "This grandma is cooler than yours. Kiss (Prince) • Band Cover." The performance drew nearly 80,000 views in its first 15 hours, putting it on course for more than six times the channel's usual first-day audience.
For a channel whose most-watched regular upload is a drum cover of "Sultans Of Swing," this session puts the kit inside a bigger conversation. Saxophone accents answer Brannock's singing, the guitarist steps forward for an extended instrumental stretch, and the arrangement drops back to a minimal funk rhythm before building again. Brannock keeps moving through it all.
The comments keep returning to details beyond the drumming: how often Sina smiles, Brannock's movement around the room, and the sight of musicians from different generations playing together. That last point fits Sina's own description of the channel, where she puts collaboration ahead of being the fastest drummer.
The ending leaves a little room for the musicians' reaction, too. After the final notes, the band laughs, Sina claps, and the bassist offers a single word: "Wow."
