Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Fishing Optical illusion 😦

"Fishing Optical illusion 😦" is the biggest daily draw on FishMentary's catch-up shelf, with nearly seven million views accumulated since its late-August posting. The title promises a visual puzzle, though it leaves the nature of the illusion open.

FishMentary posted nothing new this week. Its library nevertheless added about 77,000 views, while subscribers remained unchanged. Daily viewing is currently a little above its usual pace, a modest contrast to the much larger viewing week at nearby animal channel Arthur & Korra.

Two other uploads supply the channel's strongest daily momentum: "Kids Catch Back to Back Fish 🎣" and "Kid Holds a Shark 🦈". Together with the optical-illusion clip, they offer three different hooks for a fishing catch-up: a puzzle, successive catches and an encounter with a shark.
